We are a company that creates original and meaningful pieces for discerning clients. London based, but with a global outlook, we embrace contrasts and celebrate differences, bringing together carefully curated and beautifully crafted collections that make people’s lives richer. We support Interior Designers, Architects, FF&E, Hotels, Restaurants and domestic customers with contract furniture. We make our products to order on a 10 week lead time, with a selection of our best sellers and most popular designs in stock at all times.
We believe in creative expression; in progress with purpose; in tradition and innovation; in pieces that stand the test of time. We explore new possibilities and methods; consider history to forge a better future; we strive to create imaginative, authentic, beautiful and practical products. We love solid wood and the sense of warmth it brings. But we also enjoy compelling juxtapositions with other premium, natural materials. We choose materials for their beauty, purity, honesty and sustainability. We keep our prices reasonable considering the complexity of the manufacturing process. We will always charge a fair price for our products, given the cost of materials and production.
Everything we do, we do with love and care. The details drive us — from design and materials sourcing, to manufacturing and finishing. For us, quality is paramount and can never be compromised. We want to do things the right way, sustainably and without shirking our responsibilities. We don’t just want to build a business, but to find a balance between culture and commerce. Meet the team
Alejandro Villarreal, Founder & Creative Director
Alejandro holds a BA in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City and a Postgraduate degree in Product Design from the Royal College of Art, London. He is founder and principal of Hierve, an award winning multidisciplinary design consultancy based in Mexico City, with more than 18 years of professional design experience. Alejandro is also an angel investor with Innovation RCA, the business incubator of the Royal College of Art.
Paul Tanner - MD
Paul studied Industrial Design at Brunel, and then joined Habitat upon graduating in 2002, working as a Furniture Technician, Product Developer and then Buyer. He joined Made.com as one of their first employees, moving to Shanghai in 2011 to take their product count from 175 to 500 within 18 months. He returned to the UK to join M&S in 2012, and after 5 years steering a £135m department, he joined HAYCHE as Managing Director, bringing with him the experience gained from working at design led, huge multi-national and startup furniture brands. He is also the co-founder of Freedom To Exist, a brand specialising in minimalist timepieces.
Helene Vaillant, Sales Manager
With a career in furniture, design and retail spanning 20 years, Helene brings a wealth of experience to head up our sales team. Helene gained her Masters Degree in International Business Negotiation & Communication, at the Novancia Business School, Paris. After moving from Paris to London, Helene set up the award winning "Little Paris Store", selling French traditional and industrial furniture to the London design scene. She now comes to us from Kartell, having spent the last two years establishing their flagship store in London's Knightsbidge area.
Peter Cathersides, Production Manager
Peter graduated from Brunel University and Milan Polytechnic in Industrial Design. Since graduating, Peter has concentrated on furniture as his chosen field. Design has taken him to work all across the world, working for studios in Italy, France and Mexico. His experience includes consultancy for artist Brodie Neill, and before coming to our company, he was was Production Consultant and Lead Designer for furniture brand Made in Ratio for 4 years.
Elizabeth Encinas, PR & Marketing Manager
Elizabeth has been with Hayche since it’s launch in 2014. Having worked with Alejandro Villarreal as PR Director for Hierve, Elizabeth has been in charge of the company’s key communication and social media projects from the beginning. Elizabeth holds an MA in Public Relations, from The London College of Communication and is founder of Monforte PR, a London-San Diego based communications agency established in 2011. Her passion for Interior Design, and Art has led her to work with established furniture companies, artists and independent designers on an international level; such as DL Decor, Poligon, Ptolemy Mann, Orlando Agudelo-Botero, Giorgio Bonaguro and N&R Foldings.
Jemma Charman, Logistics & Business Support Manager
Jemma brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in buying and product development. She started her buying career at Heal’s, a design store with over a 200 year history. There Jemma’s passion for design and her proactive nature enabled her buying career to progress rapidly from buying assistant on home accessories to bedroom furniture buyer within 5 years. Jemma then moved to Marks and Spencer to buy bedroom furniture and over 3 years gained invaluable knowledge of buying, merchandising, marketing and ecommerce for a global retailer.
